Address the sensitive tooth at home

Sensitive teeth can be extremely painful to handle, especially when they begin to affect our daily lives. Caries, receding gums, decay and worn enamel are some of the causes of tooth sensitivity. You may experience sharp pain in the roots each time you consume hot, cold or bittersweet foods. The roots contain thousands of tubules or channels that lead to the nerve center of the teeth. Hot or cold food reaches the center as it travels through the tubules when the dentine covering the roots is exposed.

Here are some home remedies you can follow to avoid or cure sensitive teeth.

Coconut oil:

Being a natural antibacterial agent, coconut oil helps reduce streptococcal bacteria that cause plaque and keeps the mouth clean, preventing tooth sensitivity. It also helps reduce bad breath, gum disease and tooth pain. Take 1 tablespoon of coconut oil in your mouth and shake it for about 20 minutes, be careful not to swallow it, as it contains bacteria from the mouth. It is advisable to do it daily before brushing your teeth.

Clove oil:

One of the most popular oral care remedies, teeth have anti-inflammatory, antibacterial and aesthetic properties that help reduce several oral problems, including tooth sensitivity. Rub the cotton in the oil and leave it in the affected area for 30 minutes.

Garlic:

Garlic is another powerful agent that helps reduce tooth aches. It is rich in allicin, which is an aesthetic and antibacterial. Take a few cloves of garlic and mash in a paste, add a little water and table salt to the mixture. Apply the paste on the affected area for several minutes and wash with warm water. Do this twice a day.

Saltwater:

Salt water improves the pH balance in our mouth and creates an alkaline environment that is harmful to bacteria, resulting in the reduction of tooth pain and more dental problems. Mix half a teaspoon of salt with warm water and rinse your mouth for at least twice a day. It gives fast and effective results.
